A Look Inside the Singing Voice: The Endoscope Series

That’s what inspired my Endoscope Series: an opportunity to look inside the singing voice and connect what we see with what we hear and feel.

In this How To Singing video series, I use endoscopic footage to explore vocal function from a different perspective. Rather than relying only on descriptions, imagery, or demonstrations from the outside, we get a close-up view of the voice in action.

Connecting Sound, Sensation, and Sight

Singers use all kinds of language to describe their experiences: a sound feels “open,” a note seems to “sit” somewhere, or a phrase feels easier when we approach it differently. These descriptions can be useful, but they also raise questions. What are we actually observing? How does what we feel relate to what’s happening inside?

This series brings those questions into focus. By pairing singing demonstrations with an internal view, I explore the connections and the distinctions between sound, sensation, and visible movement.

The goal isn’t to replace the experience of singing with an anatomy lesson. It’s to add another perspective to the conversation.

A Closer Look, Not Another Rulebook

I approach these videos as an exploration, not a collection of rules about what every singer should do. I want to make room for careful observation, curiosity, and a clearer distinction between what the footage shows and how we interpret it.

Whether you’re a singer, a voice teacher, or simply curious about how the human voice works, I invite you to watch the Endoscope Series on my How To Singing YouTube channel.

Come take a look inside the voice—and listen with a new perspective.

Good luck! Jocelyn
